This refined Mid-Century Modern bar cabinet was realized, circa 1950 in the United States. It was handcrafted from bookmatched walnut (that offers a particularly stunning grain) with brass details throughout. The top cabinet area employs a drop-down door that converts to a shelf supported by two brass hinges. The interior bar area includes a floating shelf comprised of numerous cut-out recesses of alternating sizes to store an array of bar ware from shot glasses to spirit bottles. A metal placket fastens to the back of the interior bar cabinet offering a ball detail in the center that is flanked two cylindrical lights, which provide gentle illumination throughout the inside of the piece. The bottom half of the cabinet has an added storage space which is fitted with two sliding door panels with circular inset brass pulls. The cabinet sits atop splayed conical legs Horn-style legs. This piece is an excellent find for any enthusiast of first rate (and uniquely interesting) Mid-Century Modern objects, or for someone simply looking for a gorgeous bar cabinet. Mint restored condition.
