Stunning and rare Art Deco Modernist tea cabinet.
Design by P.E.L. Izeren for De Genneper Molen.
Striking Dutch design from the 1920s.
Solid oak with original oak veneer base with two original solid macassar ebony knobs on the two small doors.
Two original red stained oak shelves are behind the left door.
All three doors are straight and they close well!
In very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco tea cabinet by P.E.L. Izeren for De Genneper Molen is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
