Open glass cabinet
About the Item
The cabinet has a massive block of mahogany wood on the base, that was made from raw planks of wood, then milled into the volume, in order to create a space for the sides made out of ash wood, that are both aesthetic elements, as well as offering technical support for the glass volume ar the center of the piece. The glass was made together with a company specialized in working and securing glass and has clean joints fixed glued under UV light. The cabinet can offer support for books, but it can also be a good display for small size sculpture or different objects that we each collect in order to improve and personalize our own spaces. It is part of a series named Form before function, where the focus is moved on the aesthetic of each object, rather than on its function. The whole series is made out of side objects and open cabinets, having an aesthetic that places the objects closer to a sculptural piece. The collection is a limited series of 5, for each object. Each piece is made in our workshop, once an order is placed, in a slow production process, focusing on details in order to get the best of it, every time.
