Single Door Relief Stone Cabinet in Marble by Fort Standard
About the Item
A part of Fort Standard’s collection, “Qualities of Material”, this single door stone cabinet has a triangular relief pattern milled into the exterior panels, which removes excess weight and allows the remaining ribs to retain the material’s strength.
The new Arabescato Corchia marble uses the translucent quality of marble as light shines through to illuminate the form, especially in the relief patterned areas. The single door cabinet rests on a hard maple base.
“Qualities of Material” is a limited edition collection launched in 2016 by Fort Standard that explores natural materials to push them beyond their conventional limits and applications. The collection investigates the properties of wood, stone and leather by employing specific material characteristics to create structural designs in the context of furniture.
