Small Italian 1800s Walnut Cabinet with Carved Urn, Foliage and Mascaron Décor

About the Item

An Italian walnut small cabinet from the early 19th century, with single drawer over single door, carved foliage, vase and mascaron motifs. Created in Italy during the early years of the 19th century, this walnut cabinet features a rectangular top with carved scoop edge, sitting above a single dovetailed drawer. This drawer, carved with a delicate floral décor, is fitted with a brass pull adorned with petite scrolls. A single door below, decorated with an elegant urn carved in high relief, opens to reveal inner shelves offering storage options. This door is flanked with pilasters showcasing mascaron heads and foliage. The side panels present recessed panels with molded accents while the back is unfinished. The cabinet is raised on four feet, the front ones receiving all the attention with their Ionic inspiration. With its small proportions, skillfully carved décor and nice walnut patina, this Italian 19th century cabinet will bring a touch of refinement to any home, whether placed in a living room, bedroom or hallway.
