Swedish modern walnut and beech relief cabinet by David Blomberg, 1940s

About the Item

Cabinet designed by David Blomberg. Produced in Sweden by his own company Sala Möbelfabrik during the 1940s. Made from Walnut veneer with beech inlays and solid beech wood legs and relief decor on the doors and sides. Inside of the cabinet in teak wood and shelves in glass as well as four drawers. Very high level craftsmanship made by a skilled cabinetmaker at Blombergs own furniture factory. Very good restored condition. two veneer restorations on the top (pictured). David Blomberg started the furniture department at NK and was there hired as their head of design. He is also notably know for deigning NKs iconic Logo. He later started his own furniture design company as well as furniture factory Sala Möbelfabrik.
