18th Century Country French Louis XVI Whitewashed Commode

About the Item

18th Century Country French Louis XVI Whitewashed Commode is a late period piece, resplendent with the hand-crafted excellence that defines furnishings from this country during the era. Painstakingly hand-cut, joined and carved, it features pegged mortise & tenons all around, solid pine planks even on the back side, and carved detail across each of three full width drawer facades depicting baskets of flowers and foliate wreaths. Fancy cast bronze pulls and key guards accent the facade and provide easy access to the spacious storage. An undulating apron with scrolled legs provides support, while the whitewashed finish creates a subtle, casual visual appeal that cannot be denied!
