About the Item
Decorate a bedroom or living room with this elegant antique chest of drawers. Crafted in France circa 1780, the Louis XVI commode stands on tapered and fluted legs beneath a straight apron carved with geometric motifs. The cabinet features side spline columns and three spacious drawers across the front; each drawer showcases recessed panels adorned with carved neoclassical swags and is dressed with brass pulls and matching escutcheons. Both sides are embellished with raised molded panels for symmetry and visual balance.
The top, with cut corners, is beautifully hand-painted in a faux marble finish that complements the textured and rubbed paint in shades of soft white and pale grey. The piece retains its original key and remains in excellent condition commensurate with age and use. A refined addition to both traditional and modern interiors alike.
