About the Item

Commode hand-made in France in the late 1700s using mahogany and grey marble. The commode features three inset drawers al showing beautiful hand-made dovetail joints and decorated with hand-carved molding and thin brass along the edges. The top drawer is decorated in a way that makes is look like it is divided into three smaller drawers, giving some more depth to the piece The corners of the case are rounded and fluted, and the chest still sits on its original hand-turned tapered feet. The marble is still the original hand-cut marble with carved edges and rounded corners, matching the shape of the case.
