About the Item

Well-proportioned 19th century English George III mahogany drop-front chest with two drawers. A classic piece with two faux drawer fronts which act as a drop-down door to reveal a spacious interior cabin. It unlocks with a vertically operated lever within the keyhole and is secured when clicked back in place. Its nicely balanced form includes cockbeaded drawer fronts and a sculpted edge top, two lower hand-dovetailed drawers lined in oak with brass pulls and rests on bracket feet. Beautiful mahogany grain with a nicely patinated sheen. Petite in size, this attractive and timeless chest is versatile as it may be useful in any room. Great as a single nightstand, side table/chest by a sofa or small wall, for table linen storage or in an office or entryway.
