About the Item

Neoclassical commode hand-made in Italy in the late 1800s using walnut and walnut veneer. The commode features two large drawers with hand-made dovetail joints and drawer-fronts decorated with beautiful thin inlaid satinwood line and cross-banded walnut veneer. The top is made of a single board with rounded edges, and it is also decorated with cross-banded veneer, which starts on the top of the board and wraps around the edges. The sides are made of flat panels mortised in the legs, and the legs are tapered and decorated with cross-banded walnut veneer along the front corners. This is an absolutely gorgeous piece that will look great in many different settings. It's rather low height would make it perfect as an entry piece where to place keys and mail as soon as you enter your home. It's beautiful color make it also a perfect piece for any room that needs just a splash of warmth. Its timeless lines will allow it to look fantastic with both modern, contemporary and antique furniture. Regardless of where you will place it, this is a chest that can be used on a daily basis for many years to come.
