About the Item

This 19th Century Venetian Rococo Style Bombe Chest Commode is richly hand-painted with bouquets of vibrant flowers, centered on ochre yellow surrounds framed with seashells that interlace with twisting acanthus leaf. The deep green background color accentuates the bright floral motifs that are generously distributed on all sides of the commode. The grandeur, grace, and beauty of the rococo artwork, in combination with, the hand-carved serpentine top, curvaceous bombe body, and flowing cabriole legs, all make for a truly poetic piece that makes a perfect statement in any bedroom, living room, entryway, or hallway, while providing two generous drawers of storage. The commode has all its original pieces including the patinated bronze pulls that continue to add the Rocaille ornamentation loved by fans of the Rococo Period. Each Drawer: H= 37 in. W=45 in. D=18 in.
