19th Century Victorian Machinist's Tool Box

About the Item

Old painted and distressed oak Late Victorian American machinist's tool box. Solid oak underneath the painted surface. The box is comprised of four drawers and a flip top cavity with brass hardware and corner mounts. The typical machinist's tool box is fitted with die tools, micrometers, compasses, joiner's tools and precision tools for very small jobs. Complete with old owner's tag with raised lettering, Raymond W. Talbot. Key not included. The fine brass scrolled decorated side handle hardware bares the maker's mark, S.J. Co. Good overall condition with old paint and stain. Distressed and aged surface with visible wear, scratches, over paint, stained and tattered interior flocking. Structurally sound and sturdy. Overall wear. Drawers slide nicely. The tool box measures approximately 12.25" deep x 18.63" wide x 12.5" high.
