Stunning Identical Pair of French bow front Santos Mahogany with well veined marble topped Bedside Lockers Nightstands of outstanding quality, last quarter of the Nineteenth Century, made by Edinburgh Cabinet Makers J & T Scott 10 George Street. Each with a single pull-out drawer above a single hinged door opening to reveal a single moveable shelf. These beautiful pieces are raised on four turned tapering supports, complete with their original well veined cream marble tops Condition: Superb condition with no losses, no evidence of repairs, both drawers are very smooth to use. A fine Louis XVI style gilt bronze mounted mahogany commode, in the manner of Martin Carlin, attributed to Henry Dasson. The lockplate signed to the reverse 'Duvivier, Paris'. The design for this elegant commode is taken from the celebrated lacquer model by Martin Carlin delivered in 1785 to Madame Victoire, daughter of Louis XV, for her use in the 'grand cabinet' at the Château de Bellevue and today in the collections of the Louvre (OA 5498).
