American walnut and rough steel Chest
About the Item
The Vaneau Chest consists of three beautiful veneered drawers, hand made from beech plywood, that slide into a hand-polished and hand welded steel frame. The drawers are hand veneered with oak or american walnut, from FSC certified european forests. Two options are avaliable for the steel frame: a rough steel finish, that leaves some weld marks and irregularities on the steel, for an "industrial" look; or a smooth powder coated mat black finish. The raw strength of the steel creates a rich contrast with the warm wood veneer.
The minimal design of the steel frame means that the sides of the drawers also serve as the side panels of the Vaneau Chest: as the drawers slide in and out, openings on the side of the chest are revealed or concealed. Not a single piece of hardware is needed: the drawers slide directly on the steel tracks. No assembly is required, just slide the drawers into the frame.
Dimensions: 40 cm depth × 96 cm width × 76 cm height.
Materials: Frame in cold rolled steel, hand welded and polished, with a choice of mat black powder coated finish or a rough steel finish. Drawers and countertop in beech plywood, veneered with american walnut or oak on all surfaces.
