Antique 19th Century Marie-Antoinette Commode Paris Fire-Gilt Bronze Mahogany

About the Item

From the most significant craftsmen of the 18th century, Joseph Stockel (1743–1802) and Guillaume Benemann (1750-1811) who received a commission from Louis XVI, and Marie Antoinette to create three commodes for the “Gaming Salon” at Chateau Fontainebleau, which were delivered in 1786. 100 years after the revolution, the model by Stockel and Benneman was recreated. which now stand in the castles of Paris to rebuild. Only a few of this LXVI-style high quality chest of drawers were built. Very high quality fine bronze casting with fire gilding. The marble weighs more than 150 kg.
