The style of furniture under King Louis Philippe I (1830–1848) tended to be clean and uncluttered and was the first French decorative style imposed not by royalty. King Louis Philippe might have influenced much of the style from his own personality and unlike his Bourbon predecessors, he did not wear formal robes, but rather business suits and lived in Paris. King Louis Philippe furniture had similar forms as the earlier French Restoration period, with less decoration. You might describe it as classic and a clean uncluttered look, that even today blends seamlessly with modern furniture.
