Antique French Marble Top Bombe Secretaire Chest
About the Item
A stunning antique bombe shaped French secretaire chest with an original rouge marble top and pull down writing surface. This was made in France and dates from around the 1890-1900 period.
It is of amazing quality, and has gorgeous patterns throughout. There are high quality gilt bronze mounts, and the interior is also beautifully finished. The writing surface is leather, and most of the interior is burr maple lined.
The scene on the pull down flap is very detailed & is a work of art in itself.
We have recently had this re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age.
