About the Item
A very rare Italian Chest of 4 Drawers. Bow front drawers in walnut and carved with Acanthus Leaf and Putti—the sides with a central panel carving of a Historic Horseman in battle dress on horseback. The side panel is enclosed by a band of Acanthus leaf carvings. The main fame is ebonized and sitting on ebonized bun feet. c.1750

The chest has handmade dovetail construction, with a shaped apron below the two drawers, standing on squat cabriole legs and a pad foot. Made in two sections.
The chest interior is 87cm wide x 45cm deep x 30cm high.
Condition report -
With the original patina and brass wear. There are some knocks and marks expected with a piece of this age. The beading on the drawers has some damage. The top has some polish loss in one place, you should be able to make this out in the photographs.
There is damage to one hinge, this has had some later screws added. The lid opens and closes well, and is not loose.
