A Chest of Drawers With Triangular Parquetry
About the Item
This Hungarian chest of drawers dates to the late 1940's or early 1950's and features Mid-Century Modern styling with an Art Deco twist. The piece is crafted with a walnut case and macassar veneer inserts to the door and drawer fronts. The piece has an asymmetrical design with 5 drawers and a single door of various widths and heights, all but one lockable. The piece has a polished lacquer finish of medium gloss. The piece has been extensively reconditioned and re-lacquered. The slim drawer on the upper left has a small ink stain, but otherwise the piece is in almost perfect condition. Being square and angular, it blends easily in traditional or modern decor.
