Early Victorian Wellington Chest with 8 Drawers

About the Item

A wonderful Victorian Wellington Chest Circa 1850 With eight graduated ash lined drawers, hinged locking arm to the right. The Wellington Chest was named aptly after the Duke of Wellington these chests were tall and narrow and usually with seven drawers, one drawer for each day of the week. The most defining attribute being the locking arm that would lock all 7-8 drawers at one time. This chest has a wonderful flame mahogany coloring and would make a great lingerie chest. There are no keys present however we can see if we have a key that fits if absolutly necessary. There is a lock to the top drawer and the locking arm are both open. All handles appear to be original. Overall a well preserved, cleaned and polished appearance, no keys present, there is a lock to the top drawer and the locking arm – both are open, and all handles appear to be original. We may have a key that fits if needed.
