About the Item

This is an original 1950s haberdashery / filing chest of drawers. The chest is made in solid oak with oak veneered panelling at the sides. The chest has a stack of three large double drawers with the most beautiful original brass handles and nameplates. The oak has a lovely colour and patina, showing character from years of use. The drawers have a split base which would have originally had a sliding divider, but they are still totally usable for fabrics or paper work, with the option of placing a small cardboard base to cover the gap. The vintage haberdashery counter would make a delightful addition to any shop or studio. It provides plenty of storage with drawers measuring 36 x 28 cm each at the front. Fair condition for age. Good working order with plenty of signs of age throughout - notably the lower right panel has the oak vaneer bubbling off and the back panels are all in various stages of finish. see pics. Could be retired or used as is. We can ship worldwide. Please contact us with your country and postcode for an up to date shipping quote.
