English Oak Early 19th Century Six-Drawer Chest with Geometric Front

About the Item

This English oak chest of drawers from the late 18th-early 19th century features a rectangular top with beautiful dovetailing. The chest is adorned with an exquisite geometric front, made of six graduated drawers with the most shallow at the top and the deepest at the bottom. There is a nice crescendo in the organization of the geometric motifs, from top to bottom. Each drawer opens up with one or two brass ring pulls and all but the top ones have a central oval escutcheon. This English chest, circa 1800 is raised on four bracket feet. With its linear profile, rich patina and strong presence, this chest would be a great compliment to any room, perhaps in a bedroom or living room.
