French 19th Century Transitional St. Wood, Tulipwood and Mahogany Chiffoniers
About the Item
A charming and very elegant pair of French 19th century Transitional st. exotic wood, tulipwood, and mahogany, five drawer chiffoniers. Each chiffonier is raised by cabriole legs with fine foliate ormolu sabots. The arbalest-shaped apron is centered by lovely pierced foliate ormolu reserves. Cut corners lead up each side flanking the five drawers, each decorated with finely inlaid foliate designs and tied ribbon ormolu keyhole escutcheons. The sides display elegant quarter veneers framed within finely inlaid fillets. Above are the original Brèche d'Alep marble tops. All original gilt throughout.
