French Cute-Size 4-Drawer Chest w/Faux Marble Painted Top

About the Item

French carved and painted wood commode with faux marble top. This vintage chest from France has a rectangular-shaped top with softly rounded corners, which features a striking hand-painted faux marble finish. It sits atop the case which houses four drawers (two half drawers above two full sized drawers). Each of the drawers, flanked within rounded front side posts, are adorned with decoratively carved c-shaped notch outs with ovals between them, which give this piece a look of movement, are fitted with elaborate metal hardware/pulls. The front skirting is carved, and this piece is presented on block style feet, with front feet being rounded as to continue the soft lines of the rounded side posts. The custom grey/green finish compliments the darker faux marble top. This French commode with Neoclassical influences (just shy of 2.5 feet in width) will make a wonderful case piece when a smaller-sized footprint is needed.
