A Japanese 19th century keyaki wood Sendai clothing tansu (Isho-dansu) with four drawers and elaborate handcut iron hardware. Born during the 19th century in the Sendai prefecture, this wooden Tansu chest is a Fine example of Japan's traditional cabinetry. Featuring a reddish brown lacquered finish, this four-drawer chest presents a rectangular top, sitting above a perfectly organized façade, accented with beautifully detailed iron hardware, while the sides showcase handles allowing the piece to be moved more easily. With its clean lines, its nicely weathered appearance and convenient storage, this Japanese keyaki wood 19th century double section Sendai clothing tansu chest will bring an exotic touch to any home.
