About the Item

This lovely Gustavian pine chest of six drawers is a special find; it is unusual to see a "double chest" of six drawers side-by-side verses a traditional three drawer chest. The carved dentil molding along top, canted fluted side details and gently tapered fluted feet were traditional style elements of the era. Restored, later professionally applied painted finish in layered antique white with the top painted in contrasting black tones. It has been gently distressed to fit the age and grace of this attractive dresser. Drawers function with two brass pulls on each drawer. All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this wide chest of six drawers.
