Late 18th C. Italian Serpentine Carved-Wood Chest

About the Item

An Italian carved-wood two-drawer chest from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique chest from Italy has been designed with a softly curved, serpentine-shaped body, with skirt carved on three sides, and raised on four petitely-carved cabriole legs. The case houses a pair of full-sized drawers with elegant cartouche style panels with Baroque style pull and escutcheon at their center. A generous swag adorns the skirt at front center. There is a new custom finish with a light wash of paint and complimented with a pale gold/silver accent trim. This late 18th century Italian chest, with its soft curves and lovely finish, will be a wonderful case piece for your storage and display needs.
