Late 19th Century French Oak Chest of Drawers

About the Item

French chest of drawers from around 1900. Made of oak. A three-drawer oak body with coffered sides, slightly protruding moulded top panel and rounded corners ending in slightly curved S-shaped feet. Florally and ornamentally carved drawer fronts and multiple curved moulded plinth frame with shell-shaped central cartouche. Original key plates. Dimensions: 100 cm high / 39.37 inch high, 109.5 cm wide / 43.11 inch wide, 61 cm deep / 24.01 inch deep. Interior drawer dimensions: 17.5 cm high / 6.88 inch high, 90.5 cm wide / 35.62 inch wide, 52.5 cm deep / 20.66 inch deep. Very good ready for everyday use condition. The old wax has been removed from the chest of drawers and it has been completely sanded, revealing the beautiful matt texture of the unsealed light oak wood.

    Refinished. Replacements made: One drawer base has been replaced. Repaired: Small repair on the left side of the foot (see photos). Wear consistent with age and use. Very good ready for everyday use condition. The old wax has been removed from the chest of drawers and it has been completely sanded, revealing the beautiful matt texture of the unsealed light oak wood.
