Mid 18th century Danish pine painted chest of drawers

About the Item

Rare danish commode with traces of original paint circa 1750. 2 part chest, made this way because of its generous proportions. Beautiful scalloped shaped top and drawer fronts.  4 drawers which open on the key.  Traces of original paint which shows a panelled design.  Surface has been polished to prevent further losses and preserve the paintwork Original locks and key, these locks to work but are temperamental. Expected surface marks and losses to paintwork, minor age splits and shrinkage.  Very minor evidence of dead/inactive treated worm.  Later feet, some replaced back boards.  Structurally strong and ready for everyday use.
