Pair Of Italian 19th c. Louis XVI St. Tulipwood, Fruitwood, & Mahogany Commodes

About the Item

A stunning and finely detailed pair of Italian 19th century Louis XVI st. Tulipwood, ebonized Fruitwood, Mahogany and white Carrara marble commodes. Each three drawer commode is raised by fine square tapered legs with Tulipwood inlays below inlaid fluted designs that extend up each side. At the center are three drawers each masterfully inlaid by exquisite urn and foliate designs with centrally placed keyholes. The two side square panels are similarly decorated by their Tulipwood and Fruitwood inlays with centrally placed foliate and urn designs. The top of each commode has a wonderful rectangular white Carrara marble surface with a fine mottled edge.
