About the Item
A handsome and most decorative pair of Italian mid 18th century Louis XVI Period Walnut, Tulipwood and white Carrara marble commodes. Each wonderful two drawer chest is raised by four square tapered legs leading to the straight frieze above. At the center are the drawers with original locks and Brass keyhole escutcheons, while decorated by a central Tulipwood diamond shapes, and an outer rectangular shaped inlay. The two sides of the commodes are inlaid with the same designs as the drawers. Above are the square and thick original white Carrara marble tops. Elegant design with wonderful quality throughout.
