About the Item

Rosewood writing desk with marquetry work. With a folding top that reveals a richly compartmentalized interior. The piece features decorative marquetry in the centre, with floral motifs and a stylized vase, in lighter tones that contrast with the dark background. The geometric pattern on the fronts of the side drawers is made up of angled joints that highlight the wood grain. Internally, the upper part has several niches, dividers and small curved drawers, ideal for organizing correspondence, papers and writing materials. The base has three columns of drawers: a central one with three levels, flanked by two symmetrical columns, totalling nine drawers with round carved metal handles. The side supports that support the open top reinforce the functionality of the furniture, suitable for use as a secretary. A piece that combines utility and beauty, ideal for a classic environment.
