About the Item

A Swedish Gustavian style wooden chest of drawers from the turn of the 19th and 20th century. This antique chest from Sweden, designed in typical Gustavian style, features a simple, clean design with canted front side posts adorned with fluted carving. The top is slightly overhung with front corners which mimic the angled shape beneath. The case houses three plain front drawers--each fitted with brass round bail pulls and round escutcheon at center. The chest is raised upon squared, tapered feet, with canted legs, and straight legs in the back. The finish has been scraped, with much of the wood grain still showing through, complimented with a newer dark grey/taupe colored accent trim. This late 19th century Swedish Gustavian style chest has great proportions to it and will make a great and versatile case piece for your home!
