About the Item

Splendid triptych of Venetian provenance, dating from the Charles X period, datable to around 1830. Consisting of a dresser and two nightstands, this ensemble represents a significant example of the great cabinet-making quality achieved in the Veneto region in the early part of the 19th century. The three pieces of furniture are veneered in exceptionally high quality walnut burl, with finely arranged mirror grain, especially in the top drawers and main panels. The corner columns are fluted and ebonized, while the bulbous turned legs, with sinuous petal or bell profile, are a detail of extraordinary sculptural elegance. The dresser consists of three drawers, the first of which is slightly lower and framed by highlighted molding. The nightstands feature two drawers and a lower door, with a functional and balanced arrangement. The interiors are made of solid walnut, demonstrating the high quality of the original order, which was probably intended for a fine environment. Dimensions: Dresser: Width: 134 cm Depth: 59 cm Height:- 98cm Nightstands: Width: 49 cm / 19.25” Depth: 46cm Height:- 89cm Condition: The furniture is in excellent structural condition. There are only minor briar missing and some minor uplifts in the veneer, which are easily remedied. Recommended restoration: integration and consolidation of minor deficiencies, light cleaning of surfaces, finishing with light varnish and wax. Highly elegant triptych, ideal for classic settings or for collectors of vintage Italian furniture. Shipping available worldwide.
