Vintage Swedish Painted Bombe Commode with Faux Marble Top

About the Item

Vintage Swedish painted bombe commode with faux marble top is a wonderful example of meticulous craftsmanship combined with an artistic hand-painted finish! From the four talon and ball feet up along the boldly contoured casework to the faux marble hand-painted top, it exudes exquisite artisanal excellence. The apron that wraps around the base is beautifully scrolled, and the bombe form of the casework above includes mitered corners for added visual appeal. Three spacious drawers provide ample storage, and are fitted with cast brass pulls painted to blend with the casework coloration. The faux marble on top is so realistically portrayed, one has to touch it to realize it's not actual stone. The entire affair has already started to develop a nice, pleasing patina only adding to the allure. Circa mid-1900s. Measures 32H x 42W x 20D.
