19th Century French Colonial Faux-Bamboo and Burl Wood Semainier Commode Chest

Exceptional 7-drawer, locking Semainier chest from France. From the mid-19th century Aesthetic Movement era. Faux bamboo detail over gorgeous bird's-eye maple burl veneer. Solid oak construction. Bamboo stem front legs tapper to a realistic, hand carved bamboo "root clump". Clean front with no drawer pulls. Key serves as a pull to open drawers. Top is a precisely cut white veined red marble slab. Heirloom quality piece of furniture. All original. Drawer locks work smoothly.
