About

This commode, circa 1810 was made in France of costly imported mahogany. The veneer selections contain the crotch flamed pattern running up the front across all four of the drawers. Each drawer has finely chased pulls with the drawers centered within the frame of a pair of classical bronze-mounted columns. The whole is set up on a plinth at the bottom resting on convex mahogany feet. The chest it topped by its original white marble top. The piece has a new French polish and the mounts are cleaned showing the chest in its best light.
