1950s Brazilian Modern Credenza in Hardwood & Caning by Forma

About the Item

Available today, this Brazilian modern credenza, designed by Forma in the 1950’s, is a true masterpiece! The frame of the credenza is made with caviuna hardwood and the outside of the four doors have a straw weaving. Inside the four doors are cabinets that are perfect for storing any household items. Three of the doors have cabinets and one of them has a pull-out drawer for storage. The credenza has many features of Brazilian modern furniture, as it has a minimalist design, uses Brazilian hardwood, and also has slim legs. In addition, the wood on this piece has been refinished and is in excellent condition. Carlo Hauner (1927-1997) and Martin Eisler (1913-1977) were the primary designers for the iconic Brazilian furniture company Forma. Hauner’s and Eisler’s designs are characterized by the use of Brazilian woods, thin tubular frames and range from furniture, to ceramics and textiles. Their narrative spans through four countries (Italy, Austria, Brazil, and Argentina) and several decades, and their exceptional works are already highly sought-after examples of the vibrant modern design movement in Latin America. Size: H84.0, W218.0, D41.0 (cm) H33.1, W85.8, D16.1 (in).
