Marvelous and practical Gothic Revival cabinet with Medieval knight sculptures and great patina. This rare, Dutch workmanship Gothic dry bar truly is in excellent condition. This beautifully hand carved cabinet comes with two knights who are like the guards to the gate of this castle-like cabinet. The doors to this practical cabinet are shaped like the top section of large Gothic cathedral windows and the deep carvings are an absolute joy to look at. The hand forged wrought iron hinges as well as the 'lock plates' are perfect for these doors and both doors come with a working lock and the original Gothic key. This piece is not signed, but some years back we owned and sold a very similar design cabinet and that specimen was marked "N.V. Wed. Oosten & Zoon". The history of that Dutch cabinet maker (from Haarlem, Netherlands) goes back to the 18th century. This Gothic Style cabinet dates from the 1920s, the open design of the base makes it extra stylish and the perfect condition inside of this cabinet comes with two tiers. The first tier has the full depth of this cabinet and the removable top tier/shelf has half the depth of this cabinet. This practical and great looking Gothic cabinet is as strong and stable as the day it was handcrafted, it is completely original and all handcrafted out of solid oak (mostly tiger oak). There are the vague outlines of a few circular spots on top, but other than that this antique and highly sculptural cabinet could not be in better condition.
