About the Item

At 8' 4" long, this modular credenza by Dunbar is a sight to behold. The fusion of British Colonial, Far East, Regency and Modern create a distinctive harmony, rarely found in such tasteful proportions. Versatility abound. All modular sections can be arranged in opposite positions (facing either direction) atop the solid wood painted base. The largest cabinet proudly showcases a stacked bay of gold patina, brass accented regal drawers with hand painted Asian motifs. Contrasting yet complimentary, the black lacquer and painted accents, exist in design harmony. The brass pulls have acquired a distinctive patina over the decades. The medium and small size cabinets are open on both sides and fully lacquered inside and out. The medium cabinet is outfitted with an adjustable shelf. No better place to store and display your treasures of the Orient. Every inch was delicately restored by our in-house cabinet shop. We use a light touch to remove imperfections, without taking away any charm or patina. We restore with the intentions of maintaining authenticity and character. Our pieces look well-preserved, not "refinished". Minor imperfections may remain noticeable up-close, but the overall presentation will be estimable. We encourage you to examine our photos closely and please reach out to us with any questions or concerns. Manufactured by Dunbar Furniture and designed by Edward Wormley. Thomasville Embassy Wood Inlay Asian Modern Campaign Style Brass Accent Credenza
By Thomasville, Dorothy Draper, Henredon, Drexel
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Dorothy Draper style campaign credenza made by esteemed US furniture maker Thomasville circa 1970s. Old growth flaxen flared grain fruitwood (most likely pecan) from top to bottom are the hallmarks of the Embassy line. Black lacquer accents and brass pull hardware tie together British traditional and Eastern design. The door facades exhibit a diamond pattern wood inlay with contrasting color tones, presented tastefully to demonstrate a delicate ornate sensibility. Two large Interior cabinet spaces offer heaps of open storage with a single stationary shelf in each bay. No composite or MDF anywhere on this campaign credenza. Thomasville used a combination of solid hardwood interiors, solid fruitwood and veneers. We purchased this from the original owners out of time-capsule estate and nearly everything in the home was from the Thomasville Embassy...
