French Burl Mahogany Sideboard Late 19th Century

About the Item

French sideboard in mahogany bramble early 20th style Louis XVI. The mahogany bramble is flamed because it has many aesthetic designs. These drawings have intricate patterns and veins, tangled against a naturally dark background of varying intensities. This row opens to two doors and two drawers. This piece of furniture is the result of a Parisian work and more particularly of the Faubourg-Saint-Antoine, site renowned for its workshops of cabinetmakers, its furniture shops, its training centers as the Ecole Boulle. This piece of furniture is a beautiful work of cabinetmaking, made by a passionate. The row is richly endowed with bronzes worked at the level of the facade (uprights, drawers, basement) but not only. Bronzes are also present at the entrances of lock, keys, drawer knobs, at the ends of the feet called «turned» by the presence of hooves. The flat panels are enhanced with edging around the perimeter and on the sides of the furniture. The back of the piece is solid oak. The top of the cabinet is a luminous white marble. It is thick (1,18 in) robust and timeless. Its appearance is refined and seductive due to its inlays of gray veins color Saint Anne and its leave in facade and on the sides thus softening the angles. Drawers can be used to store cutlery sets. They are dovetailed to ensure perfect strength. This is how they can be opened daily and contain many objects. They slide perfectly. This piece of furniture charms us with its great proportions, refinement and elegance. The enfilade has been cleaned thanks to a biological preventive treatment avoiding any odor in a natural way. Practical storage solution in a living room, this enfilade is a functional furniture, beautiful and in perfect condition that will lend itself to many uses in an interior. It is as much appreciated for its storage capacity as for its aesthetic qualities. This exceptional example will harmonize with all interiors.
