French Empire Style Commode Late 19th Century

About the Item

French Empire style chest of drawers late 19th century. The wood is light cherry. Overall, the structure of the furniture is straight and absolu te. The surfaces are flat and intersect at right angles. The edges are sharp. The top is made of wood. This chest of drawers has four drawers: three drawers with keys and a hidden drawer in the upper part of the cabinet. The three lower drawers are decorated on the one hand with two round brass buttons chiseled by specialized artists and on the other hand with a central brass escutcheon also of very good quality. The drawers are dovetailed, ensuring perfect solidity. This is how they can be opened daily and contain many, sometimes heavy, objects. The drawers slide perfectly. The interior of the furniture has been cleaned so that objects can be stored without risk of odor or stains. This piece of furniture is very appreciated for its robustness and simplicity. This chest of drawers was present in the countryside where the climate was very harsh. The elegance, minimalism, light wood, sobriety of the chest of drawers are ideal for creating a chic, welcoming and modern interior whether in the living room, the dining room, the bedroom. These qualities give an impression of space thanks to the straight lines.
