About the Item

French chest of drawers Louis Philippe late 19th century. The wood is of the bramble of walnut. Walnut brambles are flamed because they have many aesthetic designs. These drawings have complex, highly contrasting patterns and intricate veins on a naturally dark background of varying intensities. This dresser is equipped with four drawers, one in the lower part larger than the others. This latter is used to store pillows, duvets. The drawers are mounted dovetail ensuring perfect strength. The drawers can be opened daily and hold many sometimes heavy objects. They slide perfectly. The back of the dresser has solid wood panels so very resistant. The called locks « wire » are discreet and do not protrude from the surface. They are made of brass. A lock has its own key and is in working condition, the other keys were designed after the furniture. The dresser is perfectly stable.
