French chest of drawers Louis Philippe mid 19th century. The wood is of the bramble of walnut. Walnut brambles are flamed because they have many aesthetic designs. These drawings have complex, highly contrasting patterns and intricate veins on a naturally dark background of varying intensities. So the bramble of walnut wonderfully imitates a theater curtain. This chest of drawers is equipped with five drawers, one of which is called "doucine". It is hidden in the upper belt of the chest of drawers. Another smaller drawer is hidden in the lower part.
