About the Item

Proudly display your turntable and receiver on this compact console. Mount your flat-screen TV above to complete your setup. The restoration team pulled no punches on this authentic Raymond Loewy DF-2000 mini-credenza console, and the end result exceeded our expectations. We re-finished the rosewood on both front and back to accentuate the contrast between all of the diverse materials that make up this unit. As you can see, this console is fully finished in rosewood on the back and attractive from every direction. The bottom spanner was re-painted white and the cherry red, injection molded plastic drawer fronts were finally buffed and polished to a glassy shine. The top section drawer cabinet is separate from the base, and can be lifted off and screwed in place if desired. The bottom is a rosewood platform with polished chrome legs attached underneath. No need to worry about water marks and scratches with this top. The industrial strength laminate is ideal for TV and stereo components. Place this cabinet in nearly any room, for any application. The functionality and versatility are endless. No need to worry about water marks and scratches with this top. The industrial strength laminate is ideal for TV and stereo components. This piece could also be used as a dry-bar. It’s tough to see this one go, but we know it will be loved. This cabinet employs the futuristic use of color and materials in a way that had not been seen before. The rich, red acrylic captures the playful spirit of the 1970s. Two pull-out drawers provide plenty of deep space. This colorful case-good could have blended in nicely on the set of 2001 A Space Odyssey, so place your stereo components on top and rocket off to the dark side of the moon. Ziggy Stardust will meet you there.

Raymond Loewy DF-2000 Orange Plastic Drawer Media Cabinet Credenza
By Raymond Loewy
Located in Chattanooga, TN
A visionary convergence of mid-century modern elegance and Space Age daring, this Raymond Loewy DF-2000 media cabinet is more than a functional storage solution—it is a sculptural manifesto. Conceived in the late 1960s by Loewy’s Paris-based design studio, Compagnie de l’Esthétique Industrielle (CEI), and brought to life by Doubinsky Frères in France, this iconic credenza embodies the era’s bold experimentation in material, form, and color. It channels the futurist spirit while celebrating Loewy’s industrial design genius, enshrined in objects as varied as Air Force One’s livery and the Coca-Cola bottle. Its presence radiates visual energy through a front-facing array of injection-molded plastic drawer fronts, their pop-art hues graduating effortlessly from vibrant orange to red—a striking signature of the DF-2000 line’s forward-thinking palette. Each drawer front, polished to a glass-like sheen, rests gracefully within the restored dark mocha of the case’s doors and side panels, which have been meticulously repainted to harmonize with Loewy’s intended contrasts. Even the back panel, preserved in its original state, bears witness to the piece’s integrity and its 360-degree appeal. The DF-2000 line’s innovative spirit shines through in its modular functionality: Loewy applied automotive-inspired efficiency, designing interchangeable doors and drawers that could be easily refreshed or reconfigured—anticipating the modern appetite for personalization. This particular cabinet, restored with precision and devotion, reveals not just a surface sheen but a rebirth of structural poise and sleek durability, while maintaining the tactile integrity of its materials. In scale and stance, this credenza commands attention; a specimen both of sculpted form and practical elegance. Its presence grounds a room, yet it uplifts it—each drawer, each surface, a deliberate articulation of mid-century ambition: to transcend mere furniture and become an icon of tomorrow’s aesthetic. For the discerning collector, interior designer, or enthusiast of design heritage, this Raymond Loewy DF-2000 media cabinet offers more than storage—it delivers a narrative, a technical feat, and a cultural artifact reanimated through conscientious restoration and timeless design. The restoration team pulled no punches on this authentic Raymond Loewy Media Cabinet Credenza, and the end result exceeded our expectations. Every inch of the wood doors and side panels were re-painted to match the original dark mocha color. The back panel was in very good condition, so we left it original. As you can see, this unit is fully finished on the back and attractive from every direction. The orange, infection molded plastic drawer fronts were finally buffed and polished to a glassy shine. The cabinet is supported by a brand new plinth base that we fabricated in our workshop. It's painted black to match the original. Except this time, we used solid pine instead of composite material. Lastly, we covered the painted white top with a sheet of white laminate to increase durability and practicality. No need to worry about water marks and scratches with this new top. The industrial strength Formica is also ideal for TV and stereo components...

Lighted Custom Made Modern Cherry Buffet Dry Bar With Wine Rack and Bar Cart
By Brown Saltman, Jens Risom, Foster-McDavid, Arne Vodder
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Please believe me when I say pictures don't this piece justice. The cherry wood shimmers and gleams with an almost indescribable Iridescence that looks like rivers of honey that form the ebbing and flowing grain. The tones and hues of the piece change depending on how the light hits it and where your eye catches it. You'll see amber, ochre, honey, and umber. We purchased this cabinet from the son of the original owners who had it custom made in the 1970's. Although it looks similar to the works to Jens Risom, Arne Vodder, and Brown-Saltman, this is a custom, made 1 of 1 credenza. There are many unique aspects to this piece that seem inspired by many designers of the period. A large cherry door on the left conceals open cabinet space with removable / adjustable shelves. The right has a faux-door panel that is made to resemble the one on the left. However, this faux-door is actually the front panel to a roll-out bar cart. This handsome server sports two drop-leaves that double its counter space. This mini buffet...

1950's Drexel Profile Leather Top Desk by John Van Koert
By Drexel, John Van Koert, Edward Wormley
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Yes, in fact that is a new leather desktop. Our team replaced the original Naugahyde surface with genuine black leather. The Drexel Profile walnut and pecan K70 Desk is both a tank and a show pony. Finished on all sides, you can proudly display in the middle of your room. The two-tier architectural design provides additional concealed storage and a top surface ideal for computer screens. Streamlined from top to bottom and minimally adorned with the distinct chrome pulls that make this line so memorable. The square, tapered legs are seamlessly incorporated into the cabinet using Scandinavian Modern design. There are no abrupt angles in Drexel Profile.  The subtle, graceful curves add a touch of elegance to an otherwise masculine look. Not only do you get ample storage and surfaces, but the bottom left cabinet is also a file drawer with all the original dividers in tact. Drexel Furniture's "Profile" line was designed by John van Koert and released in mid-1955. van Koert was already well-known at the time for designing Towle's "Contour" line of cutlery, as well as Drexel "Projection." He was also the director of "Design in Scandinavia," a traveling museum exhibition that went around the United States showcasing pieces from 1954-1957 and helped spark the US interest in Danish design. The extensive Profile group has great poise and although contemporary in spirit, is adaptable and answers the demand for furniture that neither fakes the spirit of a past style nor merely expresses a designer's whim.  This restored 1950s Drexel Profile desk...
