Renzo Rutilli Chinoiserie Decorated Gold Leaf Cabinet Credenza
About the Item
Imposing mid-century modern cabinet credenza designed by Renzo Rutilli for Johnson Furniture Company. The large credenza features three cases supported by an Asian floating style stand. Each case is fronted by doors and drawers decorated in gold leaf squares with chinoiserie motif subtle designs. The ebonized wood shows light scratches and chips on the original finish as seen in photos. Very heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The gilt doors and feet have patinated brass pulls and cladding. Makers stamp on inside of top drawer. Finished on all sides with the back having stark gilt accent lines on the borders centered by an Asian pagoda motif.
