18th Century Maple and Tiger Maple Slant Front Desk

About the Item

A fine example of a tiger maple and maple slant front desk with compartmentalized interior, including two hidden compartments with faux split column fronts, open valanced cubbies and five fitted drawers, over four graduated long drawers, and chamfered wide board back, all supported by a carved bracket base. Probably New England in origin, dating to the 18th century in very good overall condition, with some drawer joint separations, shrinkage cracks, interior drawer stains, replaced batwing brasses, restored base, other restorations and light wear commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: 40.5 in H x 37 in W x 21 in D.
