A very fine 19th century Burr walnut, ebonised , ormolu and porcelain Bonheur du jour, the superstructure with pierced brass galleries above an open compartment with mirrored interior flanked by cupboards with oval serves panels containing shelves the base containing a frieze drawer with porcelain panels above a shaped shelf and breakfront base joined by fluted columns on bun feet. Circa 1860 English This item comes in two sections for transport purposes.

A very fine 19th century rosewood, marquetry and ivory inlay drawing room cabinet, the superstructure with a moulded broken arch scroll pediment above a central bevelled mirror flanked by two bevelled mirrors, the middle section with two marquetry and ivory inlaid panelled doors, flanked by astragal glazed doors over an open undertier raised on fluted square columns, on plinth base. Circa 1880 English This item is in two sections for transport purposes. Artist Biography: The firm Collinson & Lock was founded in the late 19th century by F.G. Collinson and G.J. Lock, both of whom were former employees of Jackson & Graham. The company manufactured furniture for the likes of the Savoy Theatre and the new Law Courts, and a variety of their furniture items were featured at the Paris Exposition Universelle exhibit in 1878. A fine 19th century Louis XV style Walnut, Ebony and floral marquetry Bureau Plat in the manner of Edward Holmes Baldock, the serpentine shaped top inset with a panel of tooled leather within a border of scroll work and floral trails, the corners with shell and cabochon and foliate clasp mounts, above two frieze drawers decorated with floral marquetry and similar opposing dummy drawers, on cabriole legs applied with scrolling foliate and rocaille mounts trailing to sabots. Footnotes: Edward Holmes Baldock (1777-1845) is documented in London Trade Directories of the period in various capacities but first appears listed at 7 Hanway Street, London in 1805 described as a '..dealer in china and glass'. But by 1826 the various facets of the business included '..buying and selling, exchanging and valuing china, cabinets, screens, bronzes etc'. Baldock's business seems to have largely involved trading in foreign items and between 1832-7 he was the purveyor of earthenware and glass to William IV and later purveyor of china to Queen Victoria from 1838 until his death. The shaped top tier with brass gallery above a bevelled mirrored back resting on a beautifully figured D-end top with shaped brass galleries, above a frieze drawer, above an inlaid panelled door flanked by bow fronted inlaid panels, resting on four slim and slender tapered legs with brass capped toe. circa 1900 English Artists Biography: Edwards & Roberts was founded in 1845, and had premises at 21 Wardour Street London. By 1892 they occupied more than a dozen buildings in Wardour Street, where they continued to trade until the end of the century. They became one of the leading London cabinet makers and retailers working in a variety of styles, both modern and revivalist. Their business also involved retailing, adapting and restoring the finest antique furniture and there are many examples of their earlier furniture with later embellishments bearing their stamp. Edwards & Roberts specialized in marquetry, inlay and ormolu. Edwards & Roberts was one of the principal London companies working in the taste of the late 18th century. They started business in 1845 and by 1854 were trading as "Edwards & Roberts, 21 Wardour Street, Antique and Modern Cabinet Makers and Importers of Ancient Furniture".
