Circa 1780-1810 American Slant-Front Desk

About the Item

Circa 1780-1810 American slant-front desk of well figured solid flame birch, cherry, and birch. Classic mix of woods. Yellow pine secondary wood, typical of the upper South (Kentucky). Well fitted interior of valanced pigeon holes & drawers with prospect door. Raised on bracket feet (restored) and with apparently original bail & rosette brass pulls. Old round mar near one fall front lid hinge on the writing surface. Hinge lacks one screw, with three hinges, it is still very strong and sturdy. 41 1/4" w., 41" h., 21 3/4" d.
